Breaking News: On 1 March 2017, The Investigative Desk Tobacco was launched. For a year, a small team, led by me, will investigate the tobacco industry and public policies related to smoking in The Netherlands. This project is funded by the Dutch Journal of Medicine.

The Jury of the VVOJ Award for Investigative Journalism 2013:
“The research groups coached by Marcel Metze certainly attracted attention. The jury was impressed by the quality of their productions. Because of the scope of their investigations they were able to put complex subjects into perspective in excellent ways. Hopefully this type of investigative journalistic research will attract structural ways of financing, because the results are more than promising.”
